Thankfuls

I just have two really big thankfuls today, which are kind of just one ginormous thankful if you put them together.

First, the high school play my husband has been directing for the last two months finally performed this past weekend. AND IT WAS AMAZING. They put on A Midsummer Night's Dream - and it was beautiful, magical, hilarious, outstanding. Seriously, it wasn't just "good for a high school play" good, it was just plain great by any standard. The kids' performances were for the most part remarkable, and some of the scenes, particularly the performance of the tragedy of Pyramus and Thisbe by the rude mechanicals, had me laughing so hard I was crying. It was better than a professional presentation of the show I saw several years ago, and I think I even laughed harder at this show than at the film. I am just so grateful that it all came together, and I could not be more proud of or amazed at what my husband accomplished with those kids.

Secondly, my husband was offered a contract to teach again next year - phew! - but in addition to that, his new contract included a raise that is larger than is usually offered. The administration wanted him to know how much he is appreciated for the great work he did this year, including the success of the play.

Super grateful for the recognition for my husband, for a great weekend, and above all for the goodness and provision from God!!!
